The 2026 TSA National Conference is officially underway, and Paul International is representing Washington, DC on the national stage.

For our Children's Stories team — all freshmen — this is a milestone on top of a milestone. It's not only their first national competition; it's their first conference, period. Today they submitted their first project on a national stage and traded their state pins for the very first time, a TSA tradition that marks the moment you've truly arrived.

Meanwhile, our student news network was already on the floor doing what they do best: running interviews, working the cameras, and covering the event in real time.

Compete. Create. Cover it all. This is where it starts.

EXPLAINER

What Is the TSA National Conference?

The TSA National Conference is the annual national championship of the Technology Student Association — a non-profit STEM organization with more than 300,000 members in over 2,700 chapters nationwide. Each year, students who qualify at their state conference travel to a host city to compete in more than 65 different events covering software development, engineering design, robotics, digital video production, coding, architecture, and many others.

Competition is organized by event category and runs across multiple days. Teams and individuals present their work to panels of industry and academic judges, who score entries against a published rubric. Top finishers in each event receive medals at the National Awards Ceremony. The conference also includes a national officer election in which state delegations elect student leaders for the coming year.

In 2026, Washington, D.C. is the host city — meaning Paul International and other DC-area chapters compete with a rare home-city advantage.
